MTN Group is Africa's largest mobile network operator, headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. Operating across 19 countries in Africa and the Middle East with over 270 million subscribers, MTN delivers mobile voice, high-speed data, mobile money (MoMo), and enterprise digital services — serving as a cornerstone of digital and financial inclusion across the continent.
Product managers are hired for prioritisation instinct, customer empathy, and the ability to align engineering, design, and business stakeholders without direct authority. Companies want PMs who can say no clearly, write sharp specs, and ship products that solve a real problem — not just build features someone asked for.
Full-time roles typically include benefits (health insurance, pension contributions, paid leave). During salary negotiation, always consider the total compensation package — benefits can be worth 20–30% on top of base salary. Ask specifically about probation period, performance review cadence, and remote/hybrid flexibility before signing.
Hybrid roles blend office and remote days — but the split varies widely. Always clarify the exact office days required and whether they are fixed or flexible. Ask how the team handles meeting scheduling for in-office vs. remote days, and whether the role will evolve toward more or fewer office days over time.
