📈 What Sales Hiring Managers Look For

Sales leaders hire for drive, resilience, and coachability. They want proof that you can find pipeline, handle objections without ego, and close consistently. Your numbers tell the first story — your explanation of how you hit them tells the real one.

How to Stand Out
  • Lead every answer with a number: quota %, average deal size, sales cycle length, win rate versus the team average.
  • Prepare a 30-60-90 day plan — showing structured thinking about ramp-up immediately differentiates you.
  • Research the company's ICP (ideal customer profile) and come prepared to discuss how you'd prospect into that segment.
  • Be ready to do a live cold call or objection-handling role play — many sales interviews include one.
Likely Interview Questions
  1. What does your prospecting cadence look like for cold outbound?
  2. Walk me through the biggest deal you've closed — from initial contact to signed contract.
  3. How do you handle a prospect who goes dark after a strong discovery call?
  4. What's your process for learning a new product quickly?
Pro tip: Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Apollo to research the company's target accounts before your interview — it shows you're already thinking like a rep on their team.
📄 About Full-Time Employment Roles

Full-time roles typically include benefits (health insurance, pension contributions, paid leave). During salary negotiation, always consider the total compensation package — benefits can be worth 20–30% on top of base salary. Ask specifically about probation period, performance review cadence, and remote/hybrid flexibility before signing.

🏠 Hybrid Work — What to Expect

Hybrid roles blend office and remote days — but the split varies widely. Always clarify the exact office days required and whether they are fixed or flexible. Ask how the team handles meeting scheduling for in-office vs. remote days, and whether the role will evolve toward more or fewer office days over time.
